FISHING
Paindane is a paradise for all deep sea anglers with unrivaled catches
of gamefish and billfish with the ideal fishing area only 300 meters
from the launch. Pinnacles with shoals of monster kings, Cuta, Tuna and
all the other Pelagic species are waiting for you.
ROCK AND SURF
This facet brings you the best of both worlds. Land a 20Kg Cuta or King
from the Lighthouse reef at spring low tide, cast into 20 meters of
deep blue water where anything can happen... or take a drive on the
beach and choose a spot for yourself that will produce big Kings,
Queens, Pompano and Bonefish on light tackle.
DIVING AND SNORKELING
The Paindane Reef offers the best diving and snorkeling sites in Mozambique....
With
many world renowned reefs within easy striking distance, Paindane rates
as one of the best dive spots on the African East Coast. Manta reef is
unique and has been rated as the best worldwide, with excellent
visibility and virtually hundreds of mantas that have made this reef
their home.
The coral
garden lies inside the Paindane reef in 2 - 3 meters of water, and is
rated by Mike Slater (Guide to Mozambique) as one of the very best
snorkeling spots of the African East Coast. On a good day, visibility
extends to as much as forty meters, with thousands of tropical species
to be viewed by the entire family.
Jetski,
Hobbycat, Paddleski and boardsailing enthusiasts enjoy the safe launch
at Paindane and the fact that you sail directly into the backline and
deep waters of the Mozambique Channel, without any surf to contend
with.
For those who are
not into water activities, long walks along the pristine sun bleached
beaches, shell hunting, swimming in the warm tropical waters, tanning
in the basking sun, or sipping an ice cold beer in the beach bar can
all be enjoyed.

CHALLENGE 2010
The Paindane challenge 2010 is back and even better for everyone to enjoy. Over the years this event continues to grow and if current interest is a good indicator then I am sure this year will be no different.
2010 is a big year for Africa as we all know and this year’s challenge is sure to follow in the footsteps.

HIKING TRAIL PACKAGES
6 Night Package: R2 450.00 - (Out of season)
Includes: Accommodation
- Chalets at Paindane (4 bed to 12 bed). Transport 4 X 4 one back pack , 2 man tent, sleep roll and
40x40x40 plastic food crate per person. Does not include the transport
from town to Paindane. The transport from town to Paindane is extra
determined by the amount of clients per pick up. Dongane Chalet Accommodation and bush camp for one night.
PAINDANE
Day 1
Arrive late afternoon - settle in.
(Restaurant real Mozambique cuisine or do your own thing)
Day 2
Snorkeling (depending on the tides). Swimming at Paindane Resort.
Afternoon hike of 10km to Paindane local village, cultural tour with
our local population, drink fresh coco milk from the palm, have a "2M"
beer at the local market. Back to Paindane, spend the last night at
Paindane and order your spectacular seafood platter from the restaurant.
Day 3
Hiking to start the morning to Dongane - 22 km - along the beach, see a
whale from the beach behind the last breaker. Snorkel the reefs on the
way to Dongane. 4 X 4 waiting. Rest, eat, swim. Hike the last 6km of the way, at night - experience the beach night life and hope to see a sea turtle lay her eggs. (Not for the faint harted - this is a hard day hike). Dongane overnight in the chalet.
Day 4
Hike 10 km down the South lake or the beach - overnight in lake side camp - long drop, bath in lake. (Not for the faint harted).
Day 5
Hike back to Dongane - Chalet at Dongane. Excellent snorkeling at Dongane.
PAINDANE
Day 6
Transport back to Paindane by 4 X 4. Last night at Paindane in Chalet. Fantastic Restaurant and Bar.

Hiking group 10-14 persons per group.
Transport done by open 4 X 4 pick up Land Cruisers.
Transport from town to Paindane pick up per 4 X 4
4 per 4 X 4 with luggage.

PAINDANE FISHING AND GAME FISHING CHARTERS
Paindane resort is situated direct opposite the famous Paindane Reef. The reef creates a very safe and easy launching opportunity and fishing direct behind the reef is excellent.
The resort has two fishing boats with all equipment available.
A word from the skipper
"It is my intention to give you a value for money fishing experience. We wil target all the game fish species (King Mackerel, Greater Barracuda, Tuna Kingfish). It is not uncommon when targeting these fish that a Sailfish could be hooked, which is an amazing experience in itself and to witness a Sailie in full flight will reward you forever."

Indemnity:

All anglers must sign an indemnity form before launching.

Launch times:

As advised by the skipper of the boat.

Launch procedure:

All crew to board the boat before launching commences, and life jackets must be worn. |
Beaching procedure:
|
Once the craft has beached and the boat has been loaded on the trailer, and parked at the beach bar, only once this is done, you may remove your personal belongings and fish.

All provided for by the Skipper, any equipment or tackle lost will be charged to the angler. |
Bait:
|
It is not always possible to get sardines in Mozambique, therefore prevailing bait such as Karapou, Kanakawa, ect. will be used to supplement sardines, when they are not available. |
Weather:
|
Ski-boat fishing is dependant on good weather. Should inclement conditions occur after launching and in the skippers judgement it is not safe to stay at sea, the skipper will beach, and the charter will then be completed.

Anglers obligations:
|
It is the responsibility of the angler to ensure that they are in a fit condition to spend up to 5 hours at sea. Please note that excessive alcohol consuption the previous night, will render you and spoil the day for fellow anglers. |
Beverages on the boat:
|
Please provide your own snacks and drinks for the day's fishing. Alcohol spirits will not be allowed on board. Maximum 2 cans of beer per angler - it is not a booze-cruise. |
Tag & release policy:
|
I realize that it is an anglers dream to boat a Sailfish or Marlin. But due to the fragile stock of these beautiful fish it is my policy to tag and release any Sailfish which is estimated to weight less than 25 kilograms (Marlin - 50 kg). The angler will be able to photo-estimate it's length in the water and then release it. With a photo and an estimated length and weight a model can be made. |

PAINDANE WHALE BEACH WALK
Not to be missed!
The greatest show on earth is between Paindane and Dongane along the
coast (July to mid September). The whale migration you cannot afford to
miss. Whales come up to the back line of the waves.
A night walk might give you the opportunity to see turtles laying eggs on the beach.
